Ladybug Cat Rescue
Adoption Policies & Fees
Kittens and cats adopted from Ladybug Cat Rescue have been vetted to the fullest of our ability, and any health problems known will be disclosed prior to adoption. Due to the unknown history of feral-born kittens, we cannot guarantee anything regarding their health longterm.
Cats/kittens will come spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated as age-appropriate (kittens may need to finish their first-year kitten vaccine series after adoption, depending on age at time of adoption), treated for internal and external parasites, and tested for FIV/leukemia.
In our care, they have been feed Science Diet, Purina, or Royal Canin dry formulas, and canned Purina, Fancy Feast, Science Diet, and Royal Canin canned food twice a day. We recommend continuing these diets, and recommend continuing canned food at least once daily after adoption. Canned food is beneficial for kidney health, bladder health, and GI health, and it is important to make sure cats are familiar with canned food in case they need to eat it because of temporary or permanent health concerns in the future.
Kittens do best in pairs! Because of this, we strive to adopt kittens out in pairs, or solo kittens to homes with at least one young cat already in the home. Humans provide wonderful companionship to cats, but that does not replace the inter-cat bond that is beneficial and important!
We do not look for homes for our kittens until they are at least 8 weeks old, and kittens will not be placed in homes this young. It is important to make sure they are healthy, and ensure that we have time to find the right home for them as their personalities develop.
The adoption fee per kitten is $300 to help offset the cost of veterinary care, supplies, and future rescue efforts.
